OUR VISION
The vision of the Irish Polo Foundation is for polo to be played by young athletes in every county in Ireland.
Our mission
To generate funding to provide opportunities for young people to play the game of polo in Ireland and to support the development of a thriving polo horse industry
Our strategic focus area
- Investment in young athletes.
- The development of current and new regional High Performance Centres.
- To work in partnership with Pony Club Polo, Schools and Universities (SUPA) and Polo Clubs.
- To support the creation of a sustainable model to achieve long term success.
Related bodies supported by Polo Ireland
Established as a not-for-profit in 2020, the Treo Eile project aims to increase the retraining of ex-racehorses, once their racetrack careers are concluded.
- CONNECT > racehorse owners with retrainers/new owners
- SUPPORT > ex-racehorses with a prize-based thoroughbred event program
- PROMOTE > the versatility of the ex-racehorse and their successful stories
Our goals are threefold:
Prize money incentives aimed at 'ex-racehorses' have been established across various competitions/leagues and finals throughout Ireland in order to encourage thoroughbred participation.
